Autumnal House-work Day

All the Larks got involved in house work day today. Some of our members installed a water-butt (gleaned off of freecycle by one of our newest members! Three cheers for them and for anti-consumerism) to collect rain so that we will have plenty of water to begin growing our own vegetables. Some of us cleared away much of the overgrowth in the garden in order to turn it into a permaculture paradise and we saw some very beautiful toads and slugs. One of us did some preening of the fig tree too which didn’t produce so much fruit this year since we hadn’t properly removed the shoot tips in early June – a lesson for next year. We also have squeaky clean kitchen cupboards thanks to another of our members. A successful day of all supporting each other to maintain our home.
